Residents across metro Detroit facing subzero temps without heat

Subzero temperatures hovered Tuesday morning, creating unpleasant living situations for many in the area without heat.

The Morang Garden Apartment complex in Detroit, for one, lost heat Monday evening just hours before the coldest temperatures set in that the city has seen in twenty years.

"I have a two-month-old daughter and the apartment is really cold. I have snow coming in the inside of the windows. I cannot sleep in my bedroom, I had to sleep in the living room up under a whole bunch of blankets and turn the oven on because I don't have [any] kind of heat," says Theresa Currie. She and her daughter are two of many living without heat at the complex.

Tenants at the St. Clemens Manor Apartments in Inskter are seeing frozen water in bathtubs, and are also turning to their ovens and stoves for heat and warm water.
