4 Atlanta public safety workers face DUI charges

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA -

Four Atlanta public safety employees – including police officers – were arrested on drinking under the influence charges over the holiday weekend, FOX 5 has learned.

Last week, FOX 5's Morse Diggs reported on the arrest of Lt. Maurice Dodd. He arrested on DUI and other charges after he allegedly struck a water hydrant with his personal vehicle on Piedmont at Farr roads in Buckhead early New Year's Day. There were two open containers of beer in Dodd's car, according to the police report.

Three other public safety employees face DUI charges. One officer charged has resigned, while two other employees face disciplinary meetings. At a minimum, an officer faces suspension and could be terminated.
