EASTON, N.Y. (AP) - The Washington County Sheriff's Office says a 57-year-old Albany County man has died after he lost control of a tanker truck and crashed, spilling several hundred gallons of fuel.

The sheriff's office says Stephen Andriani of Selkirk was driving north in the town of Easton when he veered off the road around 10:30 Saturday morning. The truck overturned and the tank ruptured, spilling fuel into a field. Andriani was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sheriff's Investigator Bruce Hamilton tells the Glens Falls Post-Star (http://bit.ly/196hr9K ) that snowy conditions may have contributed to the crash.

Spill cleanup crews were scheduled to continue removing contaminated soil from the site on Sunday.
