Getting Results: Kids Playing Inside Partially-Collapsed Row Home

Posted: Updated:

FOX 29 News is getting results!

It's an all-too-common sight around the city: A vacant home becomes a dangerous eyesore for neighbors. FOX 29's Bruce Gordon showed us a prime example Thursday in Strawberry Mansion.

There, the partial collapse of a vacant home left a huge pile of rubble against Sharon Canty's house on North 33rd Street.

Shortly after our report, the Philadelphia Department of Licenses and Inspections came back to the site and hired a contractor to remove the rubble.

L&I also sealed the front door of the vacant home to keep kids out.

And the department has now put the home on a list to be demolished.

The owner of the vacant property will be billed for the work.
