SEATTLE - Making a resolution to clean up your diet in 2014?  Chew on this: A Seattle woman spent all of 2013 eating nothing but food from Starbucks.

Beautiful Evolution (yes, that’s her real name) challenged herself to only eat food sold at Starbucks or a “Starbucks-inspired” store, such as Tazo Tea, Teavana or Evolution Fresh.  The 40-year-old mom of two blogged about her year-long experience on her website, www.for1yearofmylife.com.

In November, Evolution says she spent $574.02 at Starbucks.  She had a Bistro Box for Thanksgiving dinner, noting that she was getting antsy for other food and drinks, “And I want a hamburger!”  Nonetheless, her countdown continued right up until December 31.

According to her blog, her first meal of 2014 was fish and chips from Seattle’s Ivar's restaurant

The Starbucks challenge wasn’t her first.  Existence writes that her yearly challenge blog focuses on one Pacific Northwest-based company and its impact on a suburban mom and her family.  In 2012, Existence followed all of the tips offered in Parents magazine, and she spent all of 2011 buying only things from Goodwill for her and her family.

So why does she do it?

“Because I LOVE being human and I LOVE the privilege of being able to ask the question WHY? in the first place!” Existence writes.  “I love the question WHY? because sometimes I find that the answer leaves me with even more questions about life… and then, my circle starts all over again and I wouldn’t want my WHY? any other way.”

With the new year comes a new challenge—naturally.  In 2014, Existence is focused on REI, and writes that she plans to learn 80 recreational sports over the course of the year.
