11-year-old hiker falls 25 feet on Camelback Mountain

PHOENIX -

Rescue crews were called to Camelback Mountain on New Year's Day after an 11-year-old hiker fell 25 feet down Cholla Trail.

The boy was hiking with his two older brothers when he ran ahead, slipped and fell.

Take a look at the photos -- you can see firefighters bringing the child down the trail on a stretcher.

The boy suffered injuries to his head and face from the fall.  He was airlifted off the mountain and taken to an area hospital.
