A valley mother is facing serious charges -- she's accused of leaving her child alone while she went out for a night on the town.

Police say 25-year-old Lyronda Tsosie was drinking when she left her 1-year-old daughter at her apartment near 32nd Avenue and Peoria under the care of someone who was sleeping.

Officers say she admitted she had plans of going out to meet up with a friend and continue drinking.

The child was later found at 2:20 a.m. Monday wandering Phoenix streets after she slipped out of the home through an unlocked door.  According to the police report, the girl was barefoot and only wearing a nightgown with the temperature being 46 degrees.

"I've seen this before.  It happens all the time.. parents aren't paying attention to the kids and something needs to be done.  They need to be taken away and put in good homes or foster care," said Gail Hinton, a neighbor.

Authorities say when Tsosie returned to the area where the child was found, she was extremely intoxicated and was administered a PBT by an officer, which she recorded a .270.

Tsosie now faces child abuse and negligence charges.
