Al Saad and his twin, Abe, arrived for work Monday morning at Ford Road Motor Sales on Ford Road in Dearborn. The managers quickly realized three of their used cars were missing and had been stolen off the lot.

But, after looking at the surveillance video, they realized this time was different. The thieves had a well-thought-out plan that included hiding out in this yellow Penske truck.

"They actually had a vehicle waiting outside the gate," says Al Saad. "They're all in that Penske truck waiting until everybody was cleared out, there was nobody to be seen. As soon as everybody left they immediately ran in."

The suspects cut through the gate and, one by one, stole a 1993 orange Mustang, a 1989 red McLaren Mustang and a 2004 black GMC Yukon.

"Basically, they knew what they were doing. They knew exactly what time to come and what to do," says Abe Saad.

Anywhere else they may have gotten away with it but what the thieves didn't know is that, because Ford Road Motor Sales has had a dozen cars stolen in nearly two years, the owner decided to install a GPS tracking device on every car sitting on the lot.

A couple hours later the vehicles were recovered.

"We found out they were in southwest Detroit. We went down to southwest Detroit, found the cars, called Dearborn police. They escorted us. We picked up our own cars and brought them back," explains owner Mike Elaskar.

In fact, when Dearborn Police got there, they found a total of five stolen vehicles. Two of the vehicles were from other dealerships, and all were parked in front of abandoned houses on Longworth Street, near Lawndale Street, on Detroit's southwest side.

"There was enough car parts laying around to know that they've been doing this for a while," says Elaskar. But, because of his high-tech investment, the Yukon and both Mustangs are back on the lot and for sale again.

Dearborn Police are still investigating the incident as no arrests have been made yet.
