Police warn of NW Side robberies

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Police are cautioning businesses on the Northwest Side after a man robbed three businesses in the last two days.

According to an alert issued by police, the robberies occurred on:

-Dec. 29 at 1:34 p.m. in the 3200 block of West North Avenue

-Dec. 30 at 8:45 a.m. in the 3500 block of West Armitage Avenue

-Dec. 30 at 9:15 a.m. in the 1300 block of North Milwaukee Avenue

In each instance, a suspect walked in and demanded money from the register while implying he had a weapon, police said.

The suspect was described as a black man, between 30 and 46 years old, standing 5-foot-10 to 6-foot 3 and weighing 160 to 220 pounds. He has a medium complexion and wore a black ski or skull cap, a beige or tan jacket and black or blue jeans, police said.
