Police search for hit-and-run driver in south suburbs

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Police in the south suburbs are looking for a hit-and-run driver who critically injured a man walking on the side of the road.

The crash happened on 26th Street in Chicago Heights Saturday night.

Cook County Sheriff's police said a 53-year-old man was hit by what they believe was a Ford Taurus.

The sheriff said a gray mirror matching a Taurus was found near the victim.

As of Monday evening, he is still in critical condition.

Police ask anyone with information to call the Sheriff's Police Investigations Unit at 708-865-4896.
