Posted: Updated:
WASHINGTON, DC - Around 1:42am Sunday morning, a man who was highly intoxicated or under the influence of drugs appears to have passed out and fell backwards over a wall, according to Metro spokesman Dan Stessel . He hurt is head and back. He was taken to a hospital for treatment.

This happened on the platform of the L'Enfant Plaza Metro Station. He fell over a parapet wall. That is small wall that separates the platform from the wall of the station.

This is the second similar incident at the L'Enfant Plaza Metro Station. On Christmas day at 8:40pm, a man fell from the upper level to the lower level of the station. He was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

Metro says if you are too drunk to take metro safely, you should take a cab.
