Injured bald eagle to be released in the wild

A bald eagle hit by a car in October is to be released into the wild this week.

The eagle was hit by a car on I-66 in Front Royal, Va on October 8. He was taken to Blue Ridge Wildlife Center for treatment. He had fractures to both wings, internal injuries and was close to death.

After 11 weeks of treatment, he is able to fly again and will be released.

The public is invited to watch him fly back to his home on the Shenandoah River at Low Water Bridge, Morgan Ford Road, Front Royal, VA at 1pm on New Years Day.
