Posted: Updated:
EVANSTON, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Two suspicious bottles full of an ammonia-like liquid and tin foil have been discovered in the last week in north suburban Evanston.

The bottles were discovered within a block of each other, in the 2700 and 2800 blocks of Lincoln Street, Evanston police said in a release. The first was found Thursday afternoon and the second was found Saturday morning.

Both bottles were diffused by Evanston Fire and Life Safety Services, the release said.

Police warn that the bottles could cause injury if they are moved and ask residents to call police if any plastic bottles containing a similar substance are found.

Anyone with information should contact detectives at (847) 866-5040 or Text-A-Tip to 274637, with EPD TIP in the message body.
