There is no shortage of tanning beds in the sunshine state. Skin cancer researchers at the University of Miami report there are more indoor tanning salon facilities in Florida than McDonald's restaurants or CVS pharmacies.
Researchers say there are more than 1,200 tanning salons in Florida while there are less than 900 McDonald's and less than 700 CVS pharmacies.
They estimate there is one tanning salon for every 15,000 people in the state.
Analysts are concerned especially since Florida has the second-highest incidence of melanoma in the United States.
The only business to exceed tanning salons in Florida is Bank of America ATMs, which total more than 1,400.
