ATLANTA -

Rap superstar Ludacris spread Christmas cheer at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston on Tuesday.

Each year, the Ludacris Foundation finds ways to brighten the holiday for CHOA patients and their family.

"It's all about giving back. This is what the season is about.  I'm very blessed, so I love to be able to give back to others," Ludacris said.

It was a family affair for Ludacris; he arrived with his daughter, mother, and an entourage of friends from the North Pole.

It was a special surprise for Gelia Brown, who was recently diagnosed with a kidney problem called nephrotic syndrome.

For an afternoon, the patients were able to forget all their tubes and medical equipment and just be kids.

"I can't really even put it into words, when we put smiles on kids' faces, it makes my Christmas better," Ludacris said.
