(WJBK) -

After being forced to relocate to a new home due to a lack of power and bed bugs, the Hoskins family has seen a lot of love and support from the community. Tuesday Detroit firefighters pitched in to help out the family and delivered Christmas food to the home.

The family received more great news Tuesday, finding out their mother, Nita, is returning home from the hospital and will be reunited with her seven children in time for the holiday.

Fox 2 introduced you to the Hoskins family on Monday. The family had to relocate to a new house after their old house became too dangerous for two-year-old Shayla when a storm knocked out their power. Shayla was born with a condition called Hydrocephalus and is on a ventilator. Monday the Auction Block, the DO Foundation and Got Donations brought mattresses and other furniture to the family's new home.

"I just want to say I really appreciate it, because I have fell down in my life so many times and God finds a way of picking me back up," says Nita.

This Christmas Eve Detroit firefighters also came by to drop off fruit, vegetables and a Christmas dinner.

"It feels real good, just to even be a part of something like that and help. If everybody pitches in and does something, we'll all go a long way," says Detroit firefighter Ralph Glenn Jr. The folks with Got Donations returned, also, on Christmas Eve with bags of donated ornaments, toys and the new crib for Shayla.
