GREENWICH, Conn. (AP) - Just in time for the holidays, Greenwich police are cracking down on drunken driving.

The Greenwich Time reports that police have increased their late night and weekend road presence over the past month. Police say the increased presence is working: Since the beginning of November, 25 arrests for driving under the influence have been made in Greenwich. Ten motorists were arrested this month.

Christmas and New Year's Day are among the most dangerous driving days of the year, with spikes in drunken driving accidents.

The statistics do not include arrests made on Interstate 95 or the Merritt Parkway, which are in the jurisdiction of the State Police.

The crackdown is set to continue through New Year's Day.
