Police warn Archer Heights residents of related robberies

Police are warning 8th Police District residents of related robberies in the South Side Archer Heights neighborhood.

Offenders approach victims, attack them while displaying a weapon and then rob them, a community alert from police said.

Both incidents, involving two male offenders, are related and occurred ten minutes apart Friday, according to police.

The first robbery occurred Friday around 2 a.m. in the 4800 block of South Komensky Avenue, in the same block as Edwards Elementary School. Ten minutes later, another robbery was reported in the 5100 block of South Keeler Avenue, police said.

One of the offenders is a 5-foot-4 to 5-foot-5 black man, between the ages of 18 to 25, who weighs between 130 and 165 pounds, police said. The other man is described as a 5-foot-9 to 6-foot black man, between 18 and 23-years-old, weighing between 160 to 180 pounds.
