Thousands flock to stores for 'Super Saturday' sales

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

December 21st is known as Super Saturday.

The last Saturday before Christmas and shoppers came out in full force all around the city.

Retailers are now offering deep discounts to move merchandise.

Target is offering a 10% discount for a different reason though.

It's an apology for a security breach.

Target says 40 million credit and debit cards may have been compromised.

However Target shopper, Alex, says he's not worried.

“I work a block away,” he said. “As long watch my account I should be fine.”

Aside from looking for a good deal, retail experts say many waited last minute to shop due to recent bad weather and a late thanksgiving.

With the weather being unseasonably great, the discounts are even better.

But last minute shopping among the busy crowds can take its toll..

One shopper said her daughter was so tired from all the shopping, she put her in the shopping cart.

We tried interviewing her, but she was tight asleep.

A lot of stores have late hours some are even staying open 24 hours a day until Christmas Eve.
