DC man believes he may have been victim of 'knockout game'

WASHINGTON -

A 38-year old D.C. man is recovering after he was beaten Friday night in the Bloomingdale section of the city.

The victim spoke with FOX 5 and did not want to use his name or show his full face, but he said he thinks he may have been a victim of a so-called “knockout” attack when a group of masked teenagers targeted him.

The attack happened near First and W Streets in Northwest D.C. at about 10:30 p.m. The assailants punched him in the face, then took off, but did not steal his wallet or two phones.

Police said there is no way to know if the assault was meant to be a knockout crime.

Right now, there is no look out information.
