Posted: Updated:

A father, deaf for more than 50 years, finally heard his daughter sing for the very first time.

Using technology which utilizes a receiver, a special microphone, and a transmitter, Ken Stehle was able to hear his daughter Ashley sing her first solo at her school Christmas concert.

According to KSDK.com, Ashley chose the song "Daddy Please Come Home For Christmas."

The number was not listed in the program and was a surprise to Ken.

"It's amazing, I had goose bumps all over me. I'm very proud of my daughter," Ken told KSDK.com.
