Man Builds Giant Reindeer To Help Homeless

Posted: Updated:

Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer is working overtime. He's helping out the homeless in Oregon.

The giant replica of Santa's helper is being used as a collection place for blankets.

James Mabry built the massive Rudolph.

He's been donating blankets to the homeless for the past five years, but a recent cold snap in Portland, depleted his supply.

Volunteers say there's a definite need in that area to help those less fortunate.

The reindeer replica is actually a unicorn that Mabry re-purposed. He says people have been quite generous, dropping off hats, scarves and socks, as well.
