Kirk Cousins Impresses Redskins Fan

Posted: Updated:
WASHINGTON, DC - Redskins fans didn't have a lot to cheer about as the team continued its losing skid.  The one bright spot perhaps, was the play of Quarterback Kirk Cousins, taking over for Robert Griffin III for the rest of the season.

At the Publix Bar in Tenleytown, Fans took notice of Cousin's impressive play.

" The whole Kirk Cousins thing. He's doing well so far.  I'm happy about that. As a Redskins fan I want the Redskins to win.. so to see Cousin's do well is a positive thing," Wally Davis says.

And Cousins did indeed do well, 29-45, 381 yards passing.
With those kinds of numbers,  some fans are wondering why he's just now getting his shot.

" I love Kirk Cousins. He should have started the season. RGIII wasn't ready," Tony Hamlett says.

Christopher Hackett agrees.

"They should have done it a long time ago--at the beginning of the season-- and rested RGIII's knee,"Hackett says.

Cousins was good, but he also contributed to some of the Redskins woes. Of the seven turnovers--three were by Cousins.
But cousins also delivered some key passes with razor-like accuracy.

"He's doing a great job right now, but it's too late. The Redskins don't have a chance, but he looks good,"Hamlett said.

Despite the impressive play of Cousins, Davis says in his mind, the quarterback job still belongs to Robert Griffin III.

"I'm not worried about any quarterback controversy at all. RGIII is the future of this team, but today, Kirk Cousins is my quarterback and I'm fine with him doing well,"Davis says.

Cousins has two more games to try and help the Redskins stop their six game losing streak.
