Red Flag Warning extended into Sunday

Posted: Updated:

LOS ANGELES (FOX 11) - Strong Santa Ana winds are expected throughout the Southland this weekend prompting a red flag warning.

A red flag warning has been issued by the National Weather Service until 6p.m. Sunday.

Moderate to strong winds are expected in the Los Angeles and Ventura counties through Sunday morning and should diminish by the afternoon.Gusts of 55 to 65 mph are expected across the mountain regions.

In Orange County and the Inland Empire, strong winds combined with low humidity levels will create a high fire danger especially in the canyons and passes.

Winds are expected to weaken across the Southland into Monday, but warm and very dry conditions will continue through Tuesday.
