2 accused of stealing from disabled elderly man

PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. -

Peachtree City police have charged two people accused of tricking an elderly man into giving up his home and then selling his belongings.

According to police, 51-year-old Ericka Sambrone Porter and 55-year-old William Keith Porter contacted an elderly man living in an assisted living facility. They allegedly convinced him to sign a lease for his home on Hilltop Drive in Peachtree City.  The two are accused of then moving into that home and selling some of his possessions.  Authorities aren't sure how much stuff the pair stole.

"One is a very personal item -- like his wedding ring," said Lt. Mark Brown of the Peachtree City Police Department. "Because of his capacity, we are still trying to track down the other items that were sold."

Police credit neighbors for noticing something was wrong and notifying authorities.

Both are charged with exploitation and intimidation of a disabled elderly person and burglary.
