Posted: Updated:

Family, friends and neighbors gathered at a vigil Wednesday night to remember the two young brothers who were killed in a house fire.

Damien Washington, 4, and Mekhi Wililams, 1, were left home alone the day of the fire. Their father has since been charged with involuntary manslaughter and child abuse in connection with their deaths. Their mother was arrested the night before and was in jail at the time of the fire. She has since been let out on for a 10 day bereavement period. She attended the vigil Wednesday night.

Investigators have not ruled on the cause of fire yet. They say the cause could possibly be accidental but they're also looking at the possibility that an illegal electrical hookup sparked and caught fire, but they has not yet been determined.
