Volunteers needed to care for leader dog puppies

Posted: Updated:
SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WJBK) -

The Leader Dog breeding program helps train dogs to be the eyesight for people who have none. But a string of larger-than-expected litters has left the program over-extended, and they need your help.

The program is looking for volunteer puppy raisers beginning in mid-December and going into mid-January.

Joining us on Fox 2 this morning is Laura Fisher, puppy development coordinator. Laura and her special guest Jedi give you and idea of what goes into to training these special companions.
