LAUREL, Md. -

Laurel police have arrested a Nevada man after a drug bust at a hotel yielded 180 pounds of marijuana valued at $540,000.

Police arrested 30-year-old Victor Camarillo and have charged him with possession with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana (large amount) and importing a controlled dangerous substance, marijuana, into the state of Maryland. Other charges are pending.

Laurel Police Department Drug Interdiction Task Force found suspicious activity in the parking lot of the Holiday Inn Express in Laurel and a K-9 detected the presence of drugs and possible narcotics.

Officers located Camarillo in the area, questioned him, and a search of a hotel room and several vehicles found marijuana wrapped in one pound individual packages.

Laurel police have notified the Baltimore office of the Drug Enforcement Agency.
