Vincent Gray will run for a second term as District of Columbia mayor. The mayor arrived at the D.C. Board of Elections to pick up nominating petitions Monday afternoon. Gray has one month to collect 2,000 signatures to get his name on the ballot.

Councilmembers Muriel Bowser, Jack Evans and Tommy Wells are also in the running.

Wells released the following statement: "Vince Gray was elected under false pretenses and doesn't deserve a second chance because he ran a corrupt campaign," said Wells. "I've known Vince Gray for years and I'm disappointed that he let me down-and everyone in DC down."

"DC taxpayers are still footing the bill for the fallout from Vince Gray's corrupt campaign-which followed him into the Mayor's office," said Wells' campaign manager Chebon Marshall. "Voters shouldn't accept the fact that Vince Gray hasn't been indicted as a clean bill of health. We can all agree that surrounding himself with people like Jeffrey Thompson proves that Vince Gray can't be trusted."

Ward 1 Councilmember Jim Graham told FOX 5, "I really do wish (the Mayor) well. It's going to be one heck of a contest though, because you've got very talented people who are well funded. They are articulate, they can get out their message and now he joins the ranks of those candidates."

Graham has not yet decided which candidate he will endorse.

Ward 8 Councilmember Marion Barry sent out a tweet saying in part, "I plan to be very active in the Mayor's race. At this point, I am undecided."

It caused some followers to ask whether he was planning to run himself. Barry's spokesperson says the councilmember is undecided on who he will support in the race, but he does not have any plans to run again himself. Barry confirmed that in later tweets.
