NAPERVILLE, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Firefighters battled a fire that apparently erupted on the roof of a mobile classroom on the campus of Scott Elementary School on the Naperville's south side Friday afternoon, the Naperville Sun is reporting.

Flames that towered at least two feet and columns of black and white smoke were coming from the mobile classroom due to the fire, which broke out about 12:30 p.m.

About a dozen firefighters battled the fire using hoses that they ran from fire hydrants next to the school, which was closed for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

The school at 500 Warwick Drive is near the Naperville Public Library's Naper Boulevard facility and Chesterbrook Academy Preschool.
