WASHINGTON -

When mom Enid Lucas wants to say thank you, she leaves nothing to chance. Lucas stayed up all night cooking an early Thanksgiving dinner for the staff at her daughter's school, Barnard Elementary, in D.C.'s Petworth neighborhood.

She fed 110 staffers total. Many say they often eat lunch from the vending machine in the school's breakroom.

She dished up a delicious meal. They handed out hugs. It's a treat the staffers have certainly earned.

"They are so committed to the kids. My problem is not getting them to come to work. It's getting them to leave the building to go home," says Principal Grace Reid.
