Fingerprints lead to speedy arrest after home invasion, sexual assault in Pontiac

Posted: Updated:
(WJBK) -

The Oakland County Sheriff's Department says they have arrested a man suspected of invading a Pontiac home and forcing a teenage girl to perform sex acts on him with a knife.

A woman told police she woke up in the middle of the night and found a teenage girl's bedroom door shut, and it is usually left open. When the woman tried to enter the room the door would not open. She says a black male wearing a ski mask then opened the door, hitting her with it, and then threatened her with a knife as well.

The suspect is believed to have entered the home in the Walton Ridge mobile home community through a window. Police collected fingerprints from the window and were able to make a match in the system.

A 40-year-old man is in police custody Wednesday night, approximately 30 hours after the incident took place, and is expected to be arraigned on Thursday.
