Winter doesn't officially arrive until Saturday, December 21, but winter-like weather can create dangerous road conditions here in Michigan at any time.

Fox 2's Jessica Starr got a closer look at how the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is preparing for that winter weather.

Morossi says MDOT has a tow plow which is a way to improve efficiency and cut down on spending, as it can plow two lanes of traffic at a time. Morossi adds if you see a plow on the road to stay back and give it its space to get the job done properly.

You know something weather related is going on when you hear the outdoor warning sirens, but it's not always going off to indicate a tornado.
