Child ejected from SUV during rollover crash

Posted: Updated:

Maricopa County sheriff's deputies are investigating a rollover crash near Saguaro Lake that killed a 9-year-old boy and injured his mother and two siblings.

Lt. Brandon Jones say 36-year-old Jessica Roberds and her children were traveling down the Bush Highway Tuesday afternoon when she lost control of her Chevrolet Suburban.

The boy was ejected and the SUV rolled over him.

Roberds and her other children suffered only minor injuries.

The highway was closed for more than four hours.

Jones says impairment is not suspected, but the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
