DEKALB, Ill. (AP) - Steve McWhorter scored 14 points to lead Milwaukee to an 82-69 win over Northern Illinois in the NIU Invitational tournament on Sunday.

Malcolm Moore added 15 points, hitting every shot he attempted, including three 3-pointers. Also hitting double-digits for the Panthers (4-1) were Jordan Aaron and Austin Arians, with 13 points apiece, and Kyle Kelm with 12.

Northern Illinois (1-3) jumped to an early lead on a 21-7 run, but Milwaukee battled back, grabbing its first lead on a pair of Moore free throws to make it 29-28 with 1:32 left in the first half, and then took a 35-32 advantage into the break.

The Huskies briefly recaptured the lead in the second half before Milwaukee took it back for good on a layup by Kelm to make it 54-53 with 10:50 left.

Darrell Bowie led the Huskies with 19 points and eight rebounds.
