As of 8 p.m., 6,600 people are without electricity, down from 11,200 people who reported outages around 2 p.m., said ComEd spokeswoman Kim Morris-Johnson.

South of the city, about 34,000 are without electricity, while 11,000 customers have no power west of Chicago, Morris-Johnson said.

In the north suburbs, 6,600 people are without electricity, up from the 4,600 people reported without power at 2 p.m.

About 203,000 people have been affected by the storm since it started late Sunday morning, Morris-Johnson said.

ComEd crews are assessing the damage, and there is no expected time when power will be returned to the affected areas, Morris-Johnson said.

Morris-Johnson said people should assume downed power lines are still energized and stay away from them. They can report downed lines and power outages to 1-800-334-7661 or text the word "OUT" to 26633.
