The Wayne County Medical Examiner says Renisha McBride's blood-alcohol level was twice the legal limit - 0.22 - at the time of her death. She also tested positive for the active ingredient in marijuana.

These findings come one day before the Wayne County Prosecutor will announce if charges will be filed against the homeowner.

Authorities say Renisha, of Detroit, was killed by a shotgun blast to the face early last Saturday in Dearborn Heights. A man thought someone was trying to break into his home and accidentally discharged the gun, according to police.

Renisha's family said she likely approached the home to seek help after getting into a car accident nearby.

The McBride family attorney Gerald Thurswell says her alcohol level isn't "relevant" to the shooting.
