Weekend Roundup: Bloomingdale's Burger Challenge, Wee Man's Chronic Tacos & 55,000 Dresses

Posted: Updated:

FOX 11's food and fun expert Mar Yvette searches the Los Angeles area for some of the best places to eat, drink, shop and have a great time. Featured guests then swarm our FOX Television Center parking lot every Thursday morning between 9am and 10am on Good Day LA, creating a big party as one jam-packed segment known as the Weekend Roundup!

Here's more information about the guests we featured:

Bloomingdale's Burger Challenge

It's gonna be a smokin' good time when the Culinary Kitchen at Bloomingdale's South Coast Plaza and Charlie Palmer at Bloomingdale's host two stations from the Costa Mesa Fire Department as they battle it out for the best burger in town and raise money for Santa Letters, the firefighters' charity fund that grants wishes for needy families during the holiday season. The winning burger will get a spot on the restaurant's DG (Damn Good!) Burger Menu for the month of December and provide $1 to the charity for every burger sold. Join the fun tonight at 5:30pm; $25 donation is suggested.

Wee Man's Chronic Tacos

Weeeee!!! He's an MTV celebrity and professional skateboarder, but Wee Man is also the owner of Chronic Tacos in Redondo Beach and he's ready to throw a party for you and your favorite charity! Now through November 28, you can enter to win a party for you and up to 30 people by emailing promotion@eatchronictacos.com with the subject line, "Wee Man's Chronic Tacos Charity Contest" and the following information: name and city, contact information, name of your favorite charity and a summary of why the charity was chosen. Based on the most compelling, unique entry, the winner and his/her favorite charity will be contacted after Thanksgiving Day to pick a date for the free party hosted by Wee Man himself -- it'll be big fun!

55,000 Dresses

How does one dress turn into 55,000??? One frock at a time. Local business man Paul Brockman began collecting designer ball gowns for his wife Margot during World War II in Germany. Today, more than 50 years later, the happily married couple has amassed 55,000+ vintage and designer gowns. On Saturday, November 23, for the first time ever, their dress warehouse in Gardena will open to the public with every dress on sale for $45 each. It's a revolution in dresses you don't want to miss!
