TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Federal authorities say three Chinese immigrants have been arrested after being found hidden in the trunk of a car at a checkpoint south of Tucson.

U.S. Border Patrol officials say agents using a dog and an X-ray scanner determined that the three were being transported in the trunk of a vehicle passing though the Interstate 19 checkpoint.

Authorities say the car was being driven by a U.S. resident whose name wasn't released Wednesday.

They say the driver was arrested and the three Chinese immigrants were being processed to be returned to their home country.
