Funeral services set for Hopi High football player

POLACCA, Ariz. (AP) -- Funeral services for a Hopi High School football player who died from a traumatic brain injury suffered during a playoff game are set for Friday.
 
Charles Youvella's services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Polacca on the Hopi reservation.
 
The 17-year-old Youvella scored his team's only touchdown in a 60-6 loss to Arizona Lutheran Academy on Saturday. Before the game was over, he fell hard on his head and collapsed a couple of plays later. He died Monday at a Phoenix hospital.
 
Youvella is survived by his father, Wallace Youvella Jr., and siblings Vince, Khrystyl, Torri, Zachary, Ryesa, Layne and Dominique.
 
Hopi High School is taking donations for his family. The Arizona Interscholastic Association also is setting up a fund.
