A father and son are in custody in California after suspicion of kidnapping the father's ex-wife to perform an exorcism on her.
FOX's Sonseeahray Tonsall spoke to a neighbor who is in disbelief at the allegations.
Investigators say the woman was kidnapped and brought in under the pretense of an exorcism, but neighbors say this wasn't a place she was unfamiliar with. It's a place where she used to live.
Father and son Jose Magana-Farias and Victor Farias are now calling the San Joaquin County Jail home after officials say they allegedly kidnapped a woman who was mother to one and once wife to the other.
This neighbor who didn't want to be identified saw the Farias' arrest wrap up on Saturday with two middle school aged children left distraught about what was happening to their family.
From their cells Jose and Victor refused FOX 40's offer to share their side of this story Monday night.
They were jailed for forcibly taking a woman who used to care for them both from her current home and bringing her back to a South Harrison Street address, a place neighbors say she left about a year ago after a divorce.
The father and son are accused of trying to cast out demons from her body.
The neighbor says Jose is a doting father to his younger children and that his ex-wife had recently been visiting this home and the children she left behind staying a few weeks at a time.
The kidnapped woman wasn't hurt during the abduction and ritual but the family bonds once fostered here may have been damaged forever.
NICE EASTER WEEKEND
The first half of the holiday weekend has been great and Easter Sunday looks just as nice. Clouds thin out late tonight with temperatures falling back to the 40s.
Initially it'll be jacket weather early Sunday morning but plenty of sunshine will warm us into the 60s by afternoon. High temperatures will be a few degrees cooler than Saturday.
It will be noticeably cooler and breezy at the shore with highs in the low 50s. Quiet conditions continue into Monday.
