This December will mark the 73rd anniversary of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. It triggered America's entry into the second world war.A symbol of that attack has always been the U.S.S. A FOX 10 EXCLUSIVE

Imagine a building the size of a department store, but instead of clothes and shoes inside, it's filled with guns, drugs and biological evidence.

It's the Maricopa County Sheriff's evidence facility.  It's in a super secret location – a place where news cameras have never been allowed before.

This was super interesting.  It is a huge warehouse, filled with evidence from nearly every serious crime committed in Maricopa County, going back two decades.

Some crimes you are sure to recognize.

MCSO doesn't want us to tell you where this building is and you can see just one reason why -- tons of marijuana, stacked on pallets -- and wrapped up on its way to be destroyed.

This is the sheriff's property and evidence facility.  It's a massive building, filled with evidence from nearly every criminal case in the county -- some of them very high profile.

This is the first time news cameras have been allowed inside and we got an unusual up close look at how some drug smugglers move their cargo through the desert.

But the drugs are just part of the story here.  There's a whole section filled with swords used in crimes, there are safes that have been cracked open, furniture that's been seized, bicycles that have been stolen, biological evidence -- like blood and DNA samples -- all sorted, numbered and ready to be used to convict people of crimes.

Sheriff's Lt. Kim Seagraves is in charge of the operation and she showed me some crucial evidence used in the David Anthony trial.  Anthony was twice convicted of killing his wife and two stepdaughters in a very high profile case.  The Anthony's headboard -- where blood spatters were found, the bed liner of the truck used to move the bodies and finally, a huge chunk of cement from a bedroom in Anthony's home that helped seal his fate.

"Workers went into David Anthony's house and chiseled out this several hundred pound pieces of concrete because there was a blood stain on it.  Yes, after we pulled the carpet and the pad away, you could see that somebody had cleaned it with some sort of carpet cleaner," said Seagraves.

Evidence was also just pulled out of here for the Johnathan Doody retrial. He's accused of killing nine people at a Buddhist temple west of the valley in 1991.

And of course, there are guns -- thousands and thousands of guns, which is another reason why the sheriff's office wants to keep this building on the down low.

That marijuana we showed you was taken out to be destroyed by federal agents and they are so careful carrying that amount of drugs that they wouldn't even let us watch them load it up.

Our thanks to the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office for letting us inside.
