Prescott man accused of stealing chainsaw

PRESCOTT, Ariz. -

Prescott Police have arrested a man who they saw stole an 18-inch chainsaw from a display shelf inside Sears.

A victim and witness reported seeing a suspect leave the store with the chainsaw. The victim, who is an employee of Sears, confronted the suspect.

The suspect allegedly turned toward the employee and raised the chainsaw in a threatening manner and yelled "back off."

The employee retreated and the suspect left the store with the chainsaw.

A witness provided police with vehicle information. A short time later officers located the car and contacted the suspect, Thomas Reyes, 27.

The stolen chainsaw was found in his possession, according to police.

Thomas Reyes and booked into jail for armed robbery.
