COMMERCE, Ga. -

A 2-year-old girl was found unharmed after being abducted in Commerce on Friday. Police continue to search for the man who allegedly took the girl.

According to the Commerce Police Department, Paisley Rebekah Mealor was taken from the parking lot of Northridge Hospital by Michael Troy Wilburn. Authorities describe Wilburn as the boyfriend of the girl's mother, FOX 5's Kaitlyn Pratt reports.

Commerce police said about 45 minutes after Mealor was abducted, a Madison County deputy saw Wilburn's van in a parking lot and found the girl inside. She was alone and unharmed.

Hospital officials said in a statement that the child had been reunited with her mother. It is not yet know why the child was at the hospital prior to the abduction.

Police are searching for Wilburn, who apparently fled on foot or got a ride with someone else. The 41-year-old man is about 5'11" and weighs 205 pounds. He has gray, curly hair and was last seen wearing blue coveralls, a green shirt and brown boots, police said.

Wilburn was described by deputies as a career criminal.

Anyone with information on Wilburn's whereabouts is asked to call 706-335-3200.
