Truly Julie!

The K-Pop Culture Explosion

Posted: Updated:

Truly Julie flew 3000 miles to her homeland of South Korea to explore the pop culture explosion there! From Psy's Gangnam style to Girls Generation winning Best Video at the YouTube Music Awards...there's no doubt that Korean Pop music AKA "K-pop" has crossed over!

Truly Julie met up with singer G'na and the "it" group of the moment Crayon Pop to talk about just how a country that's only the size of Indiana has been able to have such a global impact. Truly Julie also sat down with director Jee Woon Kim to talk about the Korean film boom! Jee Woon Kim has directed dozens of Korean films...but last year he got a call from Hollywood!

Kim directed "The Last Stand" starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Forest Whitaker...and he's just one of the many Korean directors who are now getting the world's attention.
