MasterChef 5 LA Casting Call Info; Meet Gordon Ramsay!

Posted: Updated:

MasterChef is now casting in Los Angeles this Saturday and Sunday at La Cordon Bleu! If you think you have what it takes to be the next MasterChef, here's what you need to do.

You must be 18 years or older on or before January 1, 2014.

You must be a citizen or legal permanent resident of the United States.

Your current main source of income cannot come from preparing and cooking fresh food in a professional environment (restaurants, hotels, food trucks, catering, etc)

If you fit those qualifications, then:

You are strongly encouraged to pre-register your profile and select Los Angeles as your open call location.

Attend the open call at Le Cordon Bleu, located at 6370 W. Sunset Blvd. You can attend on Saturday, November 9th from 11:00am to 6:00pm, or Sunday, November 10th from 10:00am to 3:00pm.

Bring one prepared dish to be served to the judges. You will be given a few minutes to plate your dish, but there will not be a kitchen to cook or warm your dish up, so come prepared. They will not supply you with dishes or utensils, so you must bring your own.

If you have any other questions, visit the official audition website at http://www.masterchefcasting.com and visit the Frequently Asked Questions section for everything you need to know.

Officials say a 16-year-old boy is "lucky to be alive" and unharmed after flying from California to Hawaii stowed away in a plane's wheel well, surviving cold temperatures at 38,000 feet and a lack of oxygen. "Doesn't even remember the flight," FBI spokesman Tom Simon in Honolulu told The Associated Press on Sunday night. "It's amazing he survived that."
