1 student injured after truck, school bus collide in Goodyear

GOODYEAR, Ariz. -

Authorities say a charter school bus collided with a pickup truck at a Goodyear intersection, but only one student has been injured along with both drivers.

Goodyear Fire Department officials say 14 students were aboard the Bradley Academy of Excellence bus at the time of Tuesday's 4 p.m. accident.

They say a 12-year-old student and the bus driver were taken to a hospital as a precaution. The remaining 13 students were being picked up by their parents.

Authorities say the driver of the flatbed pickup truck was transported to a Phoenix hospital with a leg injury.

Witnesses say it appears the pickup ran a red light and hit the bus near its rear wheels, but it will be up to police investigators to determine the crash's cause.
