ST. CLAIR SHORES (WJBK) -- Crews from the U.S. Coast Guard were able to rescue two children from a stranded boat on Lake St. Clair.

Police tell FOX 2 an adult male fell out of the vessel and into the choppy waters near 9 Mile Road and Jefferson Monday morning. The man was able to swim to shore where he called 911 and alerted authorities to his two young passengers were still on board.

Coast Guards crews arrived on scene and safely removed the children, two girls Fox 2 has learned are three and four years old. The man is their father.
