Gadget-induced ailments

Got laptop thigh? How about phantom-vibrating syndrome? Then you've fallen victim to gadget sickness.

More than 66 percent of us suffer from nomophobia, or separation anxiety from our phones.

Considering we walk with them, talk with them, and take our smartphones, computers and tablets practically everywhere it should come as no surprise that doctors at the Mayo Clinic now say these devices so dear to us may also be making us sick.

Research shows taking your tablet and phone to bed can actually interrupt your sleep.

More common are backaches and headaches from hunching over and texting or typing too long or even nausea from the screen.

A cure exists for any of these ailments, but you might not like it: doctors say take a break and put down the device. That may of course cause another temporary condition -- separation anxiety.
