CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Hadiya Pendleton's parents and Diane Redleaf were given Angel Awards during the KLEO community center fundraiser Sunday night, for their commitment to children, community and family.

KLEO was started in the name of Kleo Barrett, who was a victim of domestic violence. What began as an effort to help other domestic violence victims now stands for "Keep Loving Each Other." The organization mentors young men and supports the community in many different ways.

Cleopatra and Nathaniel Pendleton - parents to Hadiya, a 15-year-old girl who was shot and killed in January - were honored for creating a foundation in her name that works to with violent young men to turn their lives around.

Diane Redleaf was honored for being a lifelong child welfare and family advocate.

Good Day Chicago anchor Dawn Hasbrouck hosted the event along with actor T'Shaun Barrett.
